This picture was taken in the fall of 2003, at the height of my first round with Weight Watchers and in my second year of grad school. Notice the thinner face? Smaller boobs? Longer hair? I want it back, dammit: the size eight jeans, B-cup bra, every single bit of it. (Except the bangs. Luke asks me to let them go, for the sake of all that is good and holy.) I realize the gym can only do so much, but I'm optimistic nonetheless.
This picture is tacked to my refrigerator as an ode to healthier days. I can do this. I've done it before. I can lose this weight.
My alarm is set for five o'clock in the morning to begin day one of my new fitness regimen. I'm hitting "Snooze" already.
I don't think that I ever really said quite that. I just don't think you should hide any part of your face.
I don't have bangs, and see how happy I am all the time?

Good luck with everything.
Stay focused and motivated and you can acheive most anything.

You CAN do it!! See? You've done it before!
After an ever-since-Halloween love affair with every type of chocolate candy imaginable, I am joining you on the quest for thinner. First thing tomorrow morning.
Go Frema Go!
Also, Luke's comment cracked me up. :0)

i am SO with you! being unemployed for nearly 2 months now, spending most of those days at home, has totally zapped my motivation and determination. i've packed on a good 5 pounds and have eaten so much Halloween candy it would make a normal person sick (multiple times). i really need to make up an "at home" routine.
you can totally do this! and so can i. come on Internet Exercise Buddy! we totally got this.

I too would like my 2003 figure back, but I'll stick with my fatter boobs. My boobs are the only part of my body that I've ever wished to make larger, except perhaps my frontal lobes. Or whichever region of the brain is responsible for long division and things of that nature...

5am?? I'm hitting snooze just thinking about you getting up that early. Good luck! You're way more disciplined than me.

Ugh, I just cannot bring myself to wake up extra early for exercising purposes... I am a definite afternoon exerciser! Well, when I'm actually in a working out phase... but I've slacked off from that way too much since the summer.
You can do eet! You can do eet alllll niiiiight looooong!

I'm proud of you for getting up early and going to the gym! Was I not supposed to tell everyone? Well, too bad, Frema woke up early and worked out!!!!!!!! YAY!!!! Such dedication!
I also woke up at 5:15 to work out. Edgar came with me. You are right, it is so much easier when there is someone else to help motivate you. Sometimes I go by myself, but it is so much harder! I hope you are having a good day!

5 a.m.?! Damn girl, if you can post every day AND get up and workout at 5 a.m. YOU will be my hero! I might even blog about you. :)
Good luck!
Oh, and Luke's comment was super funny.

Hi Frema,
Long time no blog, eh? Well, you blog constantly. Me, never. Anyway....
I've got an answer to your problems. Get mono! I had it about 6 weeks (8 weeks?) ago, and the results have been drastic. I'm down 25 lbs. I seriously have no appetite anymore. There is one not-so-pleasant side effect, but since this is an all-ages blog, and I'm not really sure that it was caused by the mono, I'll let your imagination wander.
later,
-phil

I'm with you on the road to fitness bandwagon. We just joined a gym last week and tonight will be my fourth work out. It's tough, but the results are priceless.

On a side note, you are just so stinkin' cute.
