This morning. There I was, minding my own business, wallet in hand, manuevering through traffic on I-88 west to get to my Naperville class and merging into what I thought was an automatic toll lane. Turns out it was the last I-Pass lane, which I didn't realize until I was already boxed in. As I merged back into the community of law-abiding vehicles, my eyes scanned the area for a flashing cop car, one surely armed with a herd of militant police officers just waiting to rip me from my Cobalt and beat the eighty cents out of my bruised, bloody carcass. Really! It happened on Strong Medicine just last week.
This image was burned on my brain for the entire three hours of class, so on the way back to Indiana, I spoke with one of the toll workers whose fee I actually bothered to pay. You'll be happy to learn that as long as I mail a check for said amount within five days, no harm will come to my person. Whew.
In other news, one might think the dorkiest thing a gal could do is eagerly snatch the last (perhaps only?) copy of Cathy Dennis's debut CD at Wal-Mart. Actual dorkiest thing: discovering you already have the Cathy Dennis debut and realizing you can't return the new one because you were SO pumped by its very existence that you ripped off the plastic before you even made it home so you could pop it into your CD player and get down with your bad self AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
If nobody comments on this particular post, that's just fine by me.
I was on the phone all yesterday because of the Pope. Megan called at about three and I didn't get finished talking to her until after seven o'clock. Herrell had called earlier. He was the one who told me the pope was dead. Can you imagine, hearing it from a stoned Methodist! I thought of calling you immediately, but by the time I was off the phone it was late. Today's blog article all about JPII. I think I want to go to Justin's blog to read what he wrote about it. I'm sure it will be the complete opposite of my article. You KNOW it will be.
