When taking out the trash, do not keep your Glad bags and key carabiner in the same hand, because when you lift your arm to throw the bags into the dump, your carabiner might get tangled into the handle and thus join your garbage on its poetic and moving journey into an abyss of sour milk and uncontained dog poop. And maybe, JUST MAYBE, you will have to re-enter your (by the grace of God unlocked) apartment to obtain a step ladder usually reserved for obtaining hard-to-reach items in your pantry, not for climbing into said dumpster to retrieve your keys while wading in the glory that is your neighbors' filth.
It's just good to know.
Oh, no poor Frema,
To show you out of touch I am, I had to look up carabiner in the Wikipedia.
(In reference to prior post) No wonder, I thought there is some kind of law that YMCA, the Macarena, and the Electric Slide were required at wedding receptions. As you may already, I do really like "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers, "Love Shack" by the B-52s, " I Love Rock and Roll" By Joan Jett and the Blackhearts" and "Play That Funky Music".

My mom could have used your advice. She managed to do the exact thing you are warning us of. We, however, chose to extract the keys with the hook of a wire hanger instead of actually diving into the dumpster.

At least there weren't any wild animals in there. I've seen raccoons climb out of that dumpster a few times now.

Anyone see you climbing out. Cause I'm thinking that would have been the real joy.

Yikes!!! Sounds like a fun time. ;) At least the keys weren't thrown into a flamin' pile. Right?? ;)

See, these are the kind of things they should have covered on those "The More You Know" segments.

That is my worst fear! I always have to make sure that my keys are safely put away in my pocket or purse before I throw the trash out. Then I have to take them out right away just to reassure myself that they didn't magically end up with the trash anyway.
