Once again, much thanks to everyone who provided suggestions for Ryan and Jason's wedding presents. In order to preserve what little sanity I have left, Luke and I decided to save the tangible items for their November reception/shower and go with a monetary gift to celebrate their actual elopement. I also ran to Victoria's Secret last night to pick out some pretty things for her to wear on her wedding night (smart thinking, Liz!). On the way to the mall, it hit me, really hit me, that I won't be there to watch my little sister get married. When I see her this Saturday, she'll be a single woman. The next time? She'll sport a new last name. She'll have taken vows to love and cherish another human being for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, as long as they both shall live. And I WON'T BE THERE.
Dammit, I'm crying again. Luckily, rolled-up tank tops make excellent hankerchiefs.
It's probably safe to say that emotions will be running high at my baby shower this weekend. Expect lots of pictures (and possibly more tears) for Monday.
So as not to leave you on a completely depressing note, I want to get a feel for how many of you plan on participating in this year's National Blog Posting Month. I fully intend to hop on the bandwagon just like I did last year, especially since I was so freaking productive. Cheesy love song swap inspired by Lionel Richie! The birth of Tragic Love Friday! Yes, November 2006 was quite the month for Frema.
With everything going on in my life these days, I haven't been paying attention to this blog as much as I'd like, and since I have no idea how often I'll post once Freka arrives, think of NaBloPoMo as my early Christmas gift to the Internet.
Who's with me?
ME!
I have, like, 10 readers, 8 of which know me personally, but that's OK. I'm blopping again and nobody can stop me.
Can't wait to see what you come up with this year!

I'm pretty sure blogspot has kicked me off by now, but I am totally behind more Frema through the week! You are great!

Other than a post last week, it's been 9 months since I posted to my blog! I decided to do NaBloPoMo and even signed up, but now I'm thinking I won't do it. My goal for the next few months is to get LESS addicted to the internet, not to spend more time on it. And blogging definitely takes a lot of time and energy for me. It takes me an hour to write a basic post, since I go back and re-read and edit approximately 1000 times.

I'm planning to give it a whirl... ;o)

Though I haven't mentioned it on my blog yet, I'm jumping on the NaBloPoMo bandwagon this year.
Can't wait to see you (again!) this weekend!

Maybe you can convince your sister to have someone record their elopement/wedding so that you can see it at some point in the future? And possibly be played at the reception/shower. Not the same as being there for the event, but still something.
NaBloPoMo? No idea...
Posted by: Virginia Gal | October 11, 2007 at 01:48 PM
I'm doing NaBloPoMo, and I'm currently begging my 12 readers for enough ideas to get me through all 30 days. Should be fun times.
As someone who has been through sibling elopement, I can kind of empathize. However, the circumstances were pretty damn different (my brother and his fiance had been planning a wedding, wanted family to be there, then she talked him into eloping. hello, guess-you-don't-really-care-if-we're-there slap in the face. then they had a pretend wedding ceremony that we all had to spend money to go to vegas for.) So my tears were more angery than sad, but still tears, nonetheless.
I really like Virginia Gal's idea of having someone tape the elopement so that you all can witness it, even if it is after the fact. Then you can still at least share the memories of what it was like when she officially got hitched.

MLE, 10 readers? I think you have me beat by 8. :) But I'm in regardless. Maybe it will do me some good.

I'm not going to do it (too lazy), but I look forward to reading your post-a-day!

Oh, I'm totally in. Because I am a complete lunatic. I'll probably do Holidailies again, too, just for an added serving of Crazy.
The best part? I'm spending half of November out of town. It's going to be freaking brilliant.

I'm with ya... oh lordy, this is the last thing I should be committing to right now, though... (it takes so little to twist my arm!) :)

I'm doing NaBloPoMo for the first time this year. I missed out on it last year and was bummed so.....
Here we go.
I have no idea what I'm getting myself into!

I'm sorry you are missing the wedding. But don't worry, you'll be around for the rest of the good things that will happen in their lives. :-)
And NaBloPoMo?? No way. I could never post on Saturday and Sundays. It would kill me. (Plus, I don't have a computer at home, so I really couldn't do it.)

I haven't mentioned it yet either, but I think I'm in on NaBloPoMo.
I'm sorry you'll miss the ceremony, but you'll have plenty of opportunity to help them celebrate their love (hello lingerie gift!).

I'm insane, I did it last year, I blog every day anyway (Freak!) so hell, why not? ;)
Posted by: alyndabear | October 11, 2007 at 06:35 PM
I'm all signed up. I have no idea how I'll manage it, but I'll give it a go!

Congratulations to the lovely Ryan and the handsome Jason. I am looking forward to seeing you, Luke, and the rest of your family at this weekend's shower. I will pass on the the NaBloPoMo; however, several of the bloggers that I visit are participating.

Has it seriously been nearly a year since the birth of TLF and the Cheesy Love Song Swap?? My mind has just been blown...
Anyway, I think I am going to jump on the NaBloPoMo bandwagon this year and see how it goes--it'll be a huge challenge with my wedding and mini-honeymoon taking place then. But how awesome would it be in years to come to be able to look back and read the blogs I wrote during that time in my life! So yeah, I'm going to give it a whirl, and we'll see how it goes :)

Sorry you will miss your sister's wedding.
I am doing NaBloPoMo this year. Because I am crazy.
Posted by: Bethany | October 12, 2007 at 02:11 PM
I am I am! I didn't do it last year and I hardly was able to keep up on my reading in November, but this year I am up for the challenge. I am on a roll and I'm excited to try and write 30 posts in one month, in a row!
Posted by: Bunny | October 12, 2007 at 02:54 PM
No NaBloPoMo for me this year! I just don't have the time nor the energy to post every day. Good luck to you and all the others though.
Have a great time at your baby shower!
Posted by: Rachel | October 12, 2007 at 03:13 PM
I can't wait to see pictures. :)
Man, I'm certainly going to TRY and post every day, but I'm pretty sure I'll fail. Between working 27 hours a week, and going to school 15, not to mention homework and sleep, it might be difficult. I'm having a hard time doing one post a week now. But I'm certainly gonna TRY.

It's so hard for me to understand the I-want-to-be-there thing for weddings. About the only thing keeping me from eloping so far is that my mother said, "I don't care where or how you get married, but I want to be there." Damn guilt! I'd rather just go do it and forget the fam, having a big reception later with everyone. I think the compromise will be a ceremony far away so only a few ppl can make it. :)

I have 2 whole readers, so nah probably not. Plus I haven't written anything interesting in like...well never. I hope you had an awesome time at your shower and that your sister loved her new stuff from Vickie's! Fun. Have a great week.

Hello!
It's been a while since I commented, but just wanted to say HI. I hope all went well at the shower this weekend. What interesting, fun and CUTE things did you get? Do tell, do tell!
