Happy New Year (ish)! To kick off 2013, I had the spouse draw me a fiesty new blog banner.
Because foxy superhero is obviously the first image that comes to mind when you're reading this blog, am I right?
The year began with Luke and I reclaiming Kara and Nathan's rocking chair for our bedroom to make a cozy little reading nook. Epiphanies will be daily occurrences here, when not overrun by laundry.
This little corner is a tangible reminder of my goal to be more creative this year. After grazing on The Art of Happiness for more than eleven months, I picked up Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott. Three pages in, it was already exactly what I needed to get back in touch with my literary side. "Write down all the stuff you swore you'd never tell another soul," the book urges. "Make a commitment to finishing things." Chapter two: "Write really, really shitty first drafts."
Write, finish, write. Progress, not outcomes.
This is going to be fun.
You go girl!

Foxy superhero is the first thing to think of when reading youtr blog in addition to the thoughtful insights and the updates on family news. Not to mention all of the fabulous pictures of your sweet children.

Gosh how I love overpriced coffee. Almost as much as I love being surprised by a new post from you waiting for me in my reader. :)

The reading corner is a super idea and the idea of progress, not out comes. Out comes will happen by way of the process of progress. Love the banner.
